Eligibility Plus Inc.

Why we are so successful

Eligibility Plus, Inc. keeps working with our patients until we get the answer we want, and the answer we want is YES. This has been our mantra since our inception.

Because of our determination, you and your patients reap the rewards. Patients become eligible; our clients get paid; not only for the date of service but for the future and, when available, retroactively.

While working together with your financial managers and case workers, EPI personnel develop relationships with patients and their families to best serve them. We go to their homes; help them at hearings; and even help them obtain the identification necessary to become eligible for a program. We will be by their side to ensure they obtain the benefits they are entitled to.

Our approach to the eligibility process helps create additional Disproportionate Share (DSH) days, which will in turn increase your DSH revenues. The results: Increased Medicaid/Medi-Cal cash flow and Decreased Bad Debt.

How Do We Do It?

EPI Action Benefit to Client
We are thorough: Our screening process allows us to quickly identify the different programs a patient could be eligible for. Finding the appropriate program for the patient is reflected in the 50% conversion rate that we average for unscreened referrals.
We care: We care about the patient and the client. We recruit employees based on background, personality and tenacity. Having employees who understand the population they are working and the needs of that population builds in a rapport between our employees and the patients. In turn, this results in a higher level of compliance by the patients; which, in turn, results in a higher percentage of conversions in a shorter period of time.
We have appropriate staffing: We believe that successful eligibility services require onsite staff at your facility. No matter what the size of your facility, we always have onsite staff. We provide additional visibility in the community. When patients know they have someone they can talk with face to face they are more eager to comply.
We work all accounts referred: Not only do we work inpatient accounts, but we will work outpatient and ER accounts with the same level of tenacity. Our clients gain Increased cash flow, while reducing bad debt.

Credit Scoring is not an option:

While many companies use credit scoring as a way to determine who may or may not be eligible for a program, the credit score does not tell you when a patient’s life circumstances have changed. Credit scoring is based on HISTORY while Eligibility is based on what is currently happening in the patient’s life.

Patients lose jobs, change jobs, have babies, get diagnosed with diseases and, primary wage earners in the family die. That being said; credit scores do not always show those changes.

Eligibility Plus, Inc. prides itself in our “Patient Friendly Interview” process. Once our staff has finished the interview process, they know about the changes going on in patient’s lives and can find a program that will help them with their medical bills.
